May 28, 2017 : Rev Fr Basil Vas served as a parish priest of Holy Rosary Church Alangar for the past seven years. The parishioners of Alangar thanked him specially for his services here after the morning Eucharistic celebration today. Fr Kenneth Crasta, Fr Eugene D'Silva CSSR, Mr J Santhosh Rodrigues, vice-president, Mr F Ivan Pinto, Mr Jerald Lobo, religious sisters and all parishioners were present during this felicitation program.

The achievements of Fr Basil Vas during his tenure as a Parish priest here at Alangar were compiled and presented to all present. His work especially with regards to the projects he undertook in building the parish house, renovating the cemetery, new school building, Jubilee stage among other things were lauded. Fr Basil has worked very hard in building up this parish community. Alangar being a small parish has been able to complete works worth over 4crores in these seven years under the leadership of Fr Basil Vas.

Fr Basil is a tireless worker who always running about be it to build the parish through his active involvement in the small Christian communities or the youth by being youthful. He is always seen working for the good of the Parish. In his time St Thomas educational institutions have reached new heights. The parishioners of Alangar are ever grateful for the gift of Fr Basil Vas.
